Kettering Health opens cancer center to public today

Kettering Health Network will unveil its new cancer center today during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for elected officials and community members.

The $53 million, 120,000 square-foot, five-story, comprehensive cancer center is located in the new Pavilion building at 3700 Southern Blvd. in Kettering, across the street from Kettering Medical Center.

An open house will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Clinical staff will conduct tours of the new facility during the open house, which will feature a taste-testing of nutrient-enriched food from the center’s Café of Hope designed specifically to meet the unique nutritional needs of cancer patients.

The cancer center will also house the area’s largest infusion center for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, and will be home to more than 30 cancer physician specialists working together to meet the needs of cancer patients.

The cancer center is scheduled to open Tuesday, Dec. 13.
