Military toy store to open in Beavercreek

A military toy shop is relocating to a new space in Beavercreek, tripling the size of its original store.

MTS Toy & Hobby, owned by Isaiah and Jennifer Jones, moved from 1291 N. Fairfield Road to 1277 N. Fairfield Road after seven years. The new retail location, just a few doors down in the Fairfield Plaza, has more than 3,000 square feet of space — tripling the size of the original store.

“We’ve been around for a while,” Isaiah Jones said. “We just moved to a bigger location.”

With the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, MTS will host a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony on March 21 at 11 a.m. With the increase in store space, the business will expand its online offerings. The store sells toys like model kits, figurines, military collectibles and military-themed children’s toys. They plan to add board games, remote control hobby products and toy soldiers to its inventory.

Jones said the space will also allow them to offer different types of events. MTS offers everything from inexpensive children’s toys to rare collectibles handmade in England. For Jones, it comes back to his love of Dayton and aviation.

“I’ve always been into the military history growing up in Dayton,” he said. “My family has a pretty rich aviation.”
