What’s the next big thing for online retail? 3D shopping technology

Retail leaders say a 3D shopping platform that allows customers to feel like they’re in the store from the comfort of their computer is the next big revolution for online shopping.

The 360 Mall 3D Shopping Platform, new technology created by Australian entrepreneur Alex Danieli, is an e-commerce solution garnering major attention from investors and retailers. His startup found that 48 percent of existing online customers would shop more often — and even buy more products — if retail websites were more interactive and engaging.

“Our cutting edge in-browser 3D shopping platform is an exciting paradigm shift. It’s easy to get excited when you try it. It really feels like you are inside the store. Shoppers are able to walk around virtual stores using their keyboard …they can even pick up products and interact with them,” Danieli said.

The product is still being beta-tested, and has not launched to the public yet, but has raised more than $100,000 in seed capital. Here's what it may look like.
