The best places to eat before (or after) a Rose Music Center show

When it comes to a night out on the town with concert tickets involved, getting to the venue seated and on time is usually the main focus — and getting a great meal is often secondary.

But sometimes, you can have the best of both.

1. TJ Chumps  

The locally owned restaurant chain's Huber Heights location is the largest yet boasting a vast 4,500-square-foot patio with a large outdoor bar. It is also conveniently steps away from the music venue.

Part of the patio is covered while the other part is open air. The patio is a popular destination for Rose concert-goers.

The restaurant features a large menu with plenty of options ranging from baked wings that are flash fried, soups and salads, a variety of sandwiches and burgers, six entrees and several seasonal features that rotate.

PRO TIPS: Park at the Rose Music Center, then walk over to TJ Chumps. The patio bar works quickly and caters to the busy concert crowd with appetizers and quick bites at quick-serve standing tables in addition to regular patio seating.

2. Alematic Artisan Ales

Looking for somewhere to have a few craft brews before or after the show? Huber Heights has a new brewery located at 6182 Chambersburg Road.

The brewery and tap room are housed in 4,000 square feet of space in the Huber Center just off Brandt Pike (Ohio 201). Alematic specializes in craft beers, including small-batch ales, lagers and sours, and will also make its own wines and ciders in the future.

You’ll have a front-row seat to the brewing process while you’re there. The brewery does not have a kitchen but allows customers to bring in food. Some days there are food trucks on site and several nearby restaurants will deliver there. Ask the staff for menus of places that deliver.

3. Texas Roadhouse 

Go big or go home — ribs, hand-cut steaks, "Texas Size Combos" and a massive 1,480-calorie signature deep fried onion that goes by "The Blossom" …. or you can go with a salad — they have those, too.

4. Rooster's Wings

Roosters offers subs, sandwiches, pizza and an entire menu page geared toward their signature hand-breaded wings. This option offers all of the typical bar fare you are used to seeing, but any place that offers tater tots is alright by us.

5. Osaka Japanese Steakhouse

6. Deroma Italian Restaurant 

Owner Jimmy Troni has over 36 years of restaurant experience and makes pizzas, calzones, stromboli and a long list of different Italian pastas and entrees fresh daily. The fact that the menu features fried okra, fried ravioli, pirogues and mussels (spicy or sweet) makes us love it even more.

7. Double Deuce Tavern and Family Pizzeria 

This recently-opened pizza spot features pies, subs, wings, salads and more to appease any palette in your group.
