Why has it taken so long for someone to come up with this?

Regardless, it's here now. Drunken Waffle, a creative food truck specializing in sweet and savory waffle confections (think sandwiches as well as dessert), is hosting the first-ever brunch-themed food truck rally at Yellow Cab.

The event will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.

“Serving sweet and savory waffle sandwiches, brunch is second nature for us,” said Beth Sparks, owner of Drunken Waffle. “We’ve discovered that a bunch of other food trucks in Dayton do it really well too, so we thought, ‘Hey, let’s host a brunch food truck rally!’”

In addition to the Drunken Waffle, other participating trucks include Smokin Bee-Bee-Q, Greek Street Food Truck, Harvest, El Meson and Son of a Biscuit. Special guests Lily's Bistro will be serving their famous beignets, and Boston Stoker will be serving coffee.

“Bloody Marys and Mimosa are a very important part of brunch and we’ll have them available at the bar during the brunch food truck rally,” Sparks said. “Brunch is always more fun with AM cocktails.”

In addition to food and drink, there will also be live entertainment.
