Celebrate Women’s History Month in Dayton with these events

March means it's time to celebrate women.

Dayton has some amazing women making their names known in the world, both present and past.

Here are several events in the area, celebrating women and their contributions to our community and the world for Women's History Month.

WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH IN THE OREGON DISTRICT
Join the women business owners of the Oregon District (aka the Dames of the District) to celebrate women during the entire month of March. According to the Facebook page, "Dames of the District is a newly-founded group made up of
women who own businesses in the Oregon District. Their mission is to empower female leadership; act as resources for one another; promote the independent, locally-owned businesses of the Oregon District; and, provide the larger community with the vital perspectives offered by women business owners." FIRST FRIDAY AT CLASH DAYTON
Come out to Clash Dayton to support local artists and local fashion. Try on creations and mingle with some of the models in Clash's April showcase. Featured designers include Tracy McElfresh, Jesy Anderson, Amber Walker, Jacobee Rose Buchanan, Raven Bombshell, Wild Society, Gone BanAnnas, and Gretta Smak.

TROLLEY STOP'S BEER TAP TAKEOVER

SPIRITED WOMEN: A WOMEN DISTILLER SPIRIT TASTING
As part of the Dames of the District events in the Oregon District, Lily's Bistro will host a tasting of spirits either distilled or owned by female entrepreneurs, including Hayman's Navy Strength Royal Dock Gin, Laphroig Scotch, Ron Zacapa Rum and Maker's Mark Bourbon. Light snacks will be served, and a history of each distiller/owner will be given.

THE DAYTON WOMENS FESTIVAL (NEON Movies)
Celebrate the female pioneers of the film industry at Neon Movies in conjunction with Indigo Life Media. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 to support YWCA. 2016 WOMEN OF INFLUENCE LUNCHEON
This is Dayton's largest luncheon of the year, which honors women who are exceptionally committed to philanthropy, business, service and who embody the mission of the YWCA: to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
