Here's a sampling of the food that will be available: a whole roasted hog, carved ham with a pineapple rum sauce, marinated and dried flank steak, Hawaiian fried rice with Spam and pineapple. There's literally so much food I'm getting hungry writing about it.
But if the food doesn't make your mouth water, then maybe fresh Tiki punch and locally crafted beer will.
“We’re going to make a little island paradise right in the middle of downtown,” said Jeff Stringer, owner of Smokin’ Bee-Bee-Q. “[With] live tropical music, walk inside and you’ll forget all about the snowbanks and grey skies.”
There will also be live entertainment. The event is family-friendly, and is free for kids 12 and under.
