For the 47th time, the Dayton Art Institute will be throwing its annual Oktoberfest fundraising party, adding the unusual component of arts and crafts to the usual German food, music and beer.

The big wigs of the DAI Oktoberfest food scene, The Dayton Art Institute Associate Board Alumni Brats & Metts, will be pumping out the essential, Oktoberfest cuisines, while more than 20 food vendors will be on scene to help feed the masses.

Can’t wait till Oktoberfest to chow down on authentic German cuisine? The Lederhosen Lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 is your first opportunity to eat plenty of Oktoberfest favorites, and also your only chance to get onto the festival grounds for free before everything kicks off.

The Lederhosen Lunch is a special community lunch hosted by the DAI's Associate Board Alumni. "A variety of foods will be available for purchase, including brats, metts, schnitzel sandwiches, German salads, homemade noodles, and beverages. We'll be tapping the main beer truck for the Lederhosen Lunch — get your first Oktoberfest beer of the weekend with us! There will be live music from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oktoberfest tickets, mugs and T-shirts may also be purchased at the Lederhosen Lunch," according to the DAI's website.
