Street food, live music and family fun will all be found on good ol’ St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, at the season kickoff of The Yellow Cab Food Truck Rallies.

It’s the launchpad for food truck season, where Daytonians come together for delicious street food and local beer. What better way to celebrate one of Dayton’s most popular holidays than at an all-encompassing food, music and beer festival?

“Our rallies have always been about more than just great food,” said Brian Johnson, organizer of Yellow Cab Food Truck Rallies. “We want it to be a street festival with free live music, artisan vendors and great local beers on draft.”

Trucks and entertainment are still being finalized for the event, but details will be added to the Facebook page and the new Yellow Cab food trucks website in the coming weeks.

Currently three performers are booked for the evening. Kyleen Downes will begin at 8 p.m., followed by Krunk Town Boogie at 9 p.m. and Thundertaker at 10 p.m.

As in past seasons, The Yellow Cab Food Truck Rallies offer beer, music and The Night Market, which has delicious spices, jams and produce, artisan bathing products, handmade toys and decorations and countless other locally made goods.

This year, the rallies will be focused on providing its guests with the best local beers and entertainment.

“Starting with the first rally on St. Patrick’s Day, each rally will have its own theme and our food trucks are excited to have special menu items for the themes,” Johnson said.
