Some new and old favorites coming to the Dayton Holiday Festival

The Downtown Dayton Partnership has released its list of festivities for this holiday season. The Dayton Holiday Festival’s list includes some new offerings as well as some traditional favorites.

The season officially kicks off at Courthouse Square at 4 p.m. on Nov. 25 with the Grande Illumination and Dayton Children’s Parade. New to this year’s celebration is the live reindeer photo station, complete with a sleigh with a holiday-themed backdrop ideal for holiday cards or photos.

This year’s Grande Illumination display includes a special pattern which can be revealed with the aid of magic glasses available at the tree lighting. Other activities include rides, games, crafts, horse-drawn wagon rides and a gingerbread house display. The tree-lighting ceremony will begin at 7:45 p.m.

The Holiday Festival runs through December and includes activities like Family Movies at The Neon, the Tike’s Shoppe, Virginia Kettering’s Holiday Train display. Animated window displays, always a favorite of Daytonians young and old, will once again be held at the Schuster Center Wintergarden.

A complete listing of events and times can be found on the Downtown Dayton Partnership's website.
