Available for 10 days, their ‘Love at First Bite’ menu features romantic cocktails like the Sweetheart Martini and the Brut Domaine Chandon. The entrees include a lobster and shrimp scampi, or the Bistecca Brio. Reservations are highly recommended around Valentine’s Day.

El Meson’s ‘Madly in Love With Margaritas’

“Whether you’re celebrating with your significant other or just hanging out with friends or family, I think everyone can agree, we’re ‘Madly in Love with Margaritas!’” said an El Meson Facebook post. Wine, Dine & Sparkle at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar

If you really want to splurge on Valentine’s Day, this is the event for you. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a four-course dinner for two with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne and a sterling silver Tiffany & Co. infinity necklace.

Those who just want a small splurge can opt out of the champagne and pendant and get the meal only. That cost will range from $69-$95, depending on choice of entrée.

THE MENU

Appetizer: Prosciutto Wrapped Sea Scallop (arugula, orange tarragon vinaigrette, crispy wonton strips, roasted garlic butter sauce)

Salad: Seasonal Beet and Goat Cheese Salad (golden and red roasted beets, pickled onions, roasted pistachios, goat cheese, lemon balsamic vinaigrette)

Choice of entree:

Filet Mignon (8 ounce, beech mushrooms, cabernet demi glace) OR New Zealand Barbecue Salmon (king salmon, beech mushrooms, cilantro oil)

The filet or salmon come paired with a choice of Colossal Shrimp in roasted garlic butter sauce OR Colassal King Creb leg, au gratin style)

Dessert:

Chocolate covered Madeleine Cookies and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries with housemade chantilly cream

Sweet & Sour Valentines: A Miamisburg Pairing

Whether you’re feeling sweet or a little sour this Valentines Day, Star City Brewing Company and Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shoppe have the event for you. The brewery will be hosting Sweet & Sour Valentines on Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 7-10 p.m. 

“The sweet side of the event takes place in our Heritage Room, where we’ll have candlelit seating by the fireplace with chocolates, fresh fruit and your choices of beer, wine or cider — all made in house,” said Justin Kohnen, owner of Star City Brewing Company. “The jokingly sour side of the event takes place in our Mill Room and features access to a sour candy bar, a glass of beer wine or cider, and a whole night of mingling with our gaming library, foosball, darts, pool, giant jenga, Cards Against Humanity and more.” 

The brewery will also be tapping two exclusive ciders for the event with a new sweet and sour cider.

When: Feb. 14 from 7-10 p.m. 

Cost: Tickets for the Sweet event are $40 per couple and include candlelit and fireside seating, 2 glasses of wine, beer or cider a piece, and 16 assorted chocolates from Grandpa Joe's and fresh fruit and dip to share. Tickets for the Sour event are $10 per person and include a glass of beer, wine or cider for each person, access to our Grandpa Joe's sour candy bar, and a night of group gaming.

Salar Restaurant & Lounge pop-up Valentine’s Day dinner at Boosalis Bakery

It’s just for one evening — but it’s a very important evening for restaurant owners: Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. At 7:30 p.m. that night, Margot Blondet, owner of Salar Restaurant & Lounge, will host a pop-up, five-course wine-tasting dinner at the Cross Pointe Shopping Center bakery on East Alex Bell Road just east of Far Hills Avenue (Ohio 48). Salar, at 400 E. Fifth St. in Dayton’s Oregon District, has been shut down since it was damaged in a fire on Dec. 29. There is no projected re-opening date yet.

The menu will include items such as Pistachio-Encrusted Baby Rack of Lamb, Filet Mignon with Truffled Cream Pasta, Roasted Pisco, and Honey & Lemon Salmon. 

The price is $89 per person, which includes wine pairings and gratuity. Space is limited.
