The hands-on aviation and space demonstrations are geared toward all ages. A variety of activities showcasing Air Force technology past, present and future, such as: wind tunnels, nanotechnology, and more, will take place in the STEM Learning Node located in the Space and Research & Development Gallery.
Until 3 p.m, visitors will also be able to build and fly their own balsa glider, helping them learn about the controls of flying an aircraft. This will take place in the center of the second building (while supplies last).
Presentation topics include "spy" satellites, drones, X-planes and presidential aircraft. Two will begin 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., and last about 45 minutes each, and will be held in the STEM Learning Node located in the Presidential Gallery. Doors will remain open throughout the presentation for those who may be unable to stay.
Younger visitors can enjoy a Storytime program at 1:15 p.m. in the STEM Learning Node located in the Presidential Gallery. This will include stories of flight as well as a hands-on craft project.
