It is not enough to drive past Benjamin’s The Burger Master, the mysterious looking eatery at 100 N. Main St. in Dayton.

You have to get out of your car, walk in the restaurant and order a burger before you bite the dust.

You will not be disappointed in what you find in the landmark founded by Northridge Local Schools graduate John Riley 32 years ago.

When it first opened, Benjamin’s The Burger Master sold slider-style burgers with names like Poor Richard’s Burger and the Big Ben to pay homage to the restaurant’s namesake, Benjamin Franklin.

The menu has evolved over the years, but Riley said the emphasis remains on quality.

The list of full-size, made-to-order burgers range from the $2.99 hamburger to the $3.99 bacon cheeseburger. Extra meat, please and thanks, is $1.50.

There is also a variety of chicken and barbecue options and sides that includes southern-flavored hits such as fried okra and greens.

Drop in. Ben will be proud of you.
