Fantastic Dayton-centric Halloween costume ideas

Luckily for Daytonians, inspiration can be found all around us.

Here are six ideas inspired by the Dayton area.

👻 DAVE CHAPPELLE, costume for him

It has been a very big year for Yellow Springs area resident Dave Chappelle.  Good thing for us is that the comedian, actor and activist has created so many

memorable characters.

👻 The WEST WING:  group costume

Although set in Washington, DC., this classic show had Dayton in its DNA. 
No less than three of its key cast members hail from the Gem City: Rob Lowe and Martin Sheen and Allison Janney, both members of the Dayton Region's Walk of Fame.

Janney’s charater C.J. Cregg was even from Dayton.

👻 ORVILLE & WILBUR WRIGHT: couple’s costume 

Let North Carolina talk all it wants, we know that Dayton, Ohio is the truth birthplace of aviation and the undisputed hometown of men who started it all.

Everything  is wright about that.

👻 BRUCE BANNER/THE HULK: Super Hero 

One of the smartest fictional scientist to ever be caught in a blast of gamma radiation is a Daytonian.

Bruce Banner, AKA The Incredible Hulk, is from the Gem City.

Just in case you did not know, the characters were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and are very big deals in the Marvel  comic universe. Literally, The Hulk is massive.

👻 LIBBY HEDGES,  costume for her 

The tall, strikingly beautiful redhead born as Elizabeth Richter in the German kingdom of Prussia in 1840 commanded Dayton’s redlight district.

👻 THE POP TOP, anyone costume

Pay tribute to a man who gave the world one of its most used items,  pop-top creator Ermal Fraze.

The invention helped put Dayton on the map for its inovators and tooling and machining industry. Fraze’s  family donated  greatly to Fraze Pavilion, the Lincoln Park amphitheater in Kettering.
