Here’s how to catch up on what you missed at TedxDayton 2017 and get inspired

Winter blues got you down? Here’s one way you can get reinvigorated and inspired to finish out 2017 at your best.

The official videos from TEDxDayton are out NOW, so can re-live the magic, or experience the talks for the first time.

The October 20th sold out event at the Victoria Theatre, where an audience of more than 1,100 came to see the talks firsthand. Now, TED’s distribution channel will make the talks from Dayton available for worldwide viewing.

Diane Farrell, TEDxDayton co-chair, said, “You have to be brave to step up and take on the challenge of preparing for a TEDxDayton talk. The process is rigorous, but every speaker says the rewards of the experience far outweigh the demands.”

As in past years, during year five our speakers gave their thoughts on a wide, interesting range of topics that provided not just food for thought, but also demonstrated how Dayton is home to so many intelligent, committed, fascinating people.”

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers.

TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Monica Lewinsky, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.
