Cotton candy is a simple, sweet treat many associate with carnivals, festivals, and fairs – not exactly what some would call a “gourmet” dessert.

However, there are two cotton candy makers in Dayton that might just change your mind about this fluffy confection once and for all.

La Puf Sweets has been making quite a name for itself, making yummy cotton candy or preparing candy buffets for weddings, birthday parties and other events. Owner Karalee says that her love of cotton candy stems from her childhood.

“I have so many memories of going to the zoo or when the fairs would come to town. My dad and I always got cotton candy, it's still my favorite to this day. There is just something so magical about it,” she said.

La Puf is hosting a grand opening at their new storefront at 2289 Patterson Rd. from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. They'll be celebrating with sweet treats, swag bags and a giveaway.
