Who is Jayden K. Smith, and why does he want to hack your Facebook?

His name is Jayden and he is the monster in the closet that wants to hack your Facebook and do all sorts of wicked and horrible things with it, so says your best friend, neighbor, that dude you met at yoga and your cousin, Jeff.

Problem is that the Facebook message circulating that warns of Jayden K. Smith and his evil ways is a hoax.

Yep, it is a hack hoax.

The message from your well-meaning Facebook friend goes something like this:

Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept Jayden K. Smith friendship request. He is a hacker and has the system connected to your Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received. Hold your finger down on the message. At the bottom in the middle it will say forward. Hit that then click on the names of those in your list and it will send to them

The Telegraph is among the many news organizations that have written about the hoax.

"There is no evidence of any account with the name Jayden K Smith going on sprees of adding users, and even if there were, they would not be able to hack into an account just by becoming a friend."
