Earlier this week, we learned the 2nd Street Market will test expanded hours to gauge interest in possible future changes.
Here are three things you should know about this Dayton gem:
1. It opened in 2001. Opened in 2001 in the former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad freight depot at 600 E. Second St., which was built in 1911.
2. Like live music? Each Saturday live music begins at 10 a.m. The offerings include guitarist Danny Voris, eclectic pop by Sweet Betsy, blues from Joe and Jack Waters and 1960s-based rock from the Old Skool Duo.
3. It has what you need. The 2nd Street Market is a one-stop spot for locally produced goods. Whether it’s free range brown eggs, farm-raised chicken, lamb and pork, organic produce, freshly made baked goods or fresh milk from two local dairies, you can find most of your grocery items onsite.
