150 Dayton high school seniors march across bridge to cast ballots

More than 150 Dayton area high school seniors cast votes for the first time after marching across the Third Street Peace Bridge said Bryan Stewart, organizer of Dayton's recent Longest Table and legislative aide for the City of Dayton.

Yesterday's march marked the fifth year Dayton and Montgomery County Black Elected Officials has taken local high school seniors to vote for the first time.

Students from Dayton Public School's high school and Trotwood Madison High School participated in the nonpartisan event that started with lunch at the RTA Cultural Center.

Votes were cast at the Montgomery County Board of Elections.

Stewart said 900 students have voted as part of the project since it was launched.

More than 500 people from around the city recently shared a meal and engaged in conversation across the Peace Bridge as part of the Longest Table.
