Austin Landing gets green light for more restaurant sites

A building designed to house three restaurants near The Park at Austin Landing may be under construction this spring.

Miami Twp. trustees Tuesday night voted 2-0 to allow a zoning change for the plan that calls for a 19,567 square foot building immediately north of the park.

The building – which will include outdoor areas facing the park for all three spaces - is the second in as many months proposed by Austin Landing developer VisCap Development to gain township approval.

In March, trustees voted in favor a nearly 10,000 square foot site designed to house three or four restaurants and retail tenants, said VisCap President Larry Dillin.

Dillin has yet to announce which restaurants will occupy the sites. The two buildings are part of $45 million plan for new construction at the 142-acre, mixed-use development within the next two years, Dillin has said.

Dillin has said he expects both sites to be built and have tenants by early 2018, if not sooner.
