UPDATE: The Dayton area’s first Barry Bagels restaurant is gearing up to open, and has announced an official grand opening date.
“Our official grand opening will be Tuesday, July 25,” co-franchisee Jennifer Fester said in an email.
The shops hours will be 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.
“We have 24 employees ready to start training this week,” Fester said in an email. “We are going to train our employees for a few days before we solidify a grand opening date, but we are confident it will be within the next two weeks.”
The restaurant is coming to 4313 Far Hills Ave. in Kettering. The space, adjacent to a Firehouse Subs sandwich shop, formerly housed a Sumera Sushi eatery.
The 1,800-square-foot restaurant is part of a Toledo-based chain that serves bagels and bagel sandwiches, along with soups and salads. The new restaurant will offer delivery and catering, its franchise owners have said.
Barry Bagels operates six bagel shop/restaurants in northern Ohio, two in suburban Columbus, and two in Michigan.
The new Kettering restaurant is still accepting applications, Fester said. For more information about the restaurant, check out the Barry Bagels Kettering Facebook page.
