“As a final thank you to our loyal customers, we are offering a 50 percent discount on food and discount drink special through Saturday,” said Scott Anderson, owner of Paddy’s Irish Pub.

The space previously housed Tavern on Main, and, before that, Beef O’Brady’s operated a pub there for 10 years until 2014.
"I'm not sure if it was the location or what, but the sales never materialized," Anderson said of Paddy's. "We nurtured it for two years and decided that it was just time to shut it down."
Anderson, former co-owner of Sweeney’s Seafood Restaurant in Centerville, was the co-owner of Caramella’s Italian Kitchen in Sugarcreek Twp., which shut down less than two months ago. It had operated for two years as Murphy’s Irish Pub before morphing into a full-service Italian restaurant for four months.

Anderson said he has returned to the banking industry and has no plans to reopen a restaurant or bar. “This will be it,” he said.
The closing will impact about 20 employees. Anderson said he was saddened by the job losses, but said many of his employees have already lined up employment elsewhere after Paddy’s shuts down.
“There are lots of restaurants out there,” Anderson said.
