Dairy Queen coming to Liberty Twp.

A Dairy Queen restaurant is coming to Liberty Twp.’s growing downtown Bethany area.

The 2,612-square-foot eatery is planned for a 1.54-acre site at the southeast corner of Cincinnati-Dayton Road and Wyandot Lane, about half a mile north of Ohio 129 Cincinnati-Dayton Road exit.

It’s anticipated to open there next spring, according to Christy Gloyd, the township’s marketing/communications associate.

The township’s zoning commission voted last month to recommend approval of the rezoning three pieces of property from general business to a business planned unit development and township trustees approved that measure.

The restaurant is projected to create 75 new jobs based upon hiring at recently opened similar-sized locations.

Once constructed, it will be one of two Dairy Queens in Butler County, joining one already in business at 9128 Cox Road in West Chester Twp. That building was constructed in 1994, according to the Butler County Auditor’s Office.
