The new Englewood location is at the Ohio 48-Wenger Road intersection, just north of I-70. It will occupy 1,800 square feet and will employ 30 to 35, Fryman said.
The construction timetable and projected opening date has not yet been set, Fryman said.
Fryman has said plans call for opening as many as nine locations in southwest Ohio of the Jacksonville, Florida-based chain. Bob Zavakos with NAI Bergman represented Firehouse Subs in the Englewood deal and is seeking sites in Beavercreek, Springfield and Richmond.
Firehouse specializes in hot subs and also serves salads, chili and other sandwiches in an atmosphere that evokes an old-fashioned firehouse. It has seemingly found a niche in a highly competitive submarine sandwich market in southwest Ohio, with relative newcomers such as DiBella’s and Jersey Mike’s expanding in the region alongside national chains such as Subway and Dayton-based chains that include Submarine House and Super Subby’s.
