Construction is expected to begin on a new downtown outdoor music venue this summer, with concerts beginning in mid-2018.
Renderings of the state-of-the-art Levitt Pavilion Dayton were released today and show how supporters say the pavilion will remake Dave Hall Plaza into downtown’s living room.
The Levitt Pavilion Dayton is $550,000 short of its $5 million fundraising goal. The music venue will host at least 50 free concerts each year, including a mix of local, national and international acts.
The currently underutilized Dave Hall Plaza, adjacent to the Crowne Plaza Dayton, also will be available to other nonprofits, community groups and businesses to use.
Friends of Levitt Pavilion Dayton, a nonprofit, says the pavilion design recalls the “elegance and clarity” of early airplane construction and the innovation of flight.
The venue will have high-quality sound and lighting and a large video board.
The park will have connected pathways, green spaces, sculptures, signage and other facilities.View full experience
