The 4,000-square-foot space will seat 158. Sidhu said he expects to hire 60 to 70 employees.

The Village at Dayton Mall location was attractive because it is highly visible, close to growing communities, and surrounded by strong retail businesses, Sidhu told this news outlet in January.

Sidhu operates two other McAlister’s in the region: on Pentagon Boulevard near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, which opened in November 2014; and on Miller Lane in Butler Twp., which opened in Augut 2015. Sidhu said plans call for adding perhaps two more restaurants; Kettering and Troy are potential locations, although no leases have been signed.
