Local band mates to play on national TV at U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Two members of the Miamisburg High School Marching Band are among four Ohioans picked for to the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, a nationally televised event.

Will Kendall and Trey Singleton will travel to San Antonio in January to take part in the festivities at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which touts itself as “the premier high school football game in the nation” that “features the nation’s top high school senior football players and marching musicians.”

Singleton plays keyboards and percussion and will be performing on the synthesizer during the Jan. 6 event. Kendall performs on the baritone.

Kendall and Singleton will join Cordelia Hoffmann of Brunswick High School and Ethan Laib of Perrysburg High School as the only Ohioans in the 125-member band. It is set to perform at halftime of the game, which will be telecast on NBC.

Miamisburg High School Band Director Steve Aylward was also selected to be a part of the Director’s Academy and will be flown down to San Antonio to participate in clinics, and attend rehearsals and the bowl game.
