Local brewpub & coffee bar expands menu, hours

The Wandering Griffin Brewery & Pub in Beavercreek is expanding its menu and has added food service to the morning hours.

The pub and coffee bar has launched brunch service every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brunch menu includes items such as Scotch Eggs (two soft-boiled eggs wrapped in sausage, rolled in seasoned breadcrumbs and fried golden brown), Pancakes and Fish & Chips.

And the brewpub's in-house coffee shop, Wanderlust Coffee Bar, has added breakfast sandwiches to its menu from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. weekdays. The sandwiches offer a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, topped with greens, porter mustard, and cheddar cheese on an English muffin.

The coffee bar also is staying open later on Friday and Saturday nights and has developed a “Wanderlust After Dark” menu that includes coffee drinks with spirits added.

And the brewpub now offers a make-your-own Bloody Mary bar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The 10,000-square-foot brewpub — located at the former Quaker Steak & Lube space at 3725 Presidential Drive off Colonel Glenn Highway —opened in late November. Its founders expect to start brewing beer at the brewpub later this year.

Wandering Griffin co-founder Brian Young said the brewpub has started booking national acts for its live-music weekends and is gearing up for a patio-opening party in March. The brewpub expects to get its specialized pizza oven up and running in the coming days, Young said.
