Bike park near UD Arena could be ready soon

A $300,000 mountain bike park near UD Arena could be built and open by late summer or early fall.

The city of Dayton has selected a firm to design and build Welcome Park.

The International Mountain Bicycling Association Trail Solutions will develop the public park

It would attract riders of all skill levels and feature pump tracks, jumps, skills training and a multi-use perimeter trail.

Welcome Park now has a dilapidated picnic area, aging basketball hoops and a children’s playground.
