Remember us mentioning that a new restaurant, Marilyn's Grill, was coming to downtown Dayton?
Well, they are officially open for business. The soul food restaurant soft-launched earlier in the season and is now open for full breakfast and lunch. Marilyn's dinner hours will be available later this month.
Breakfast is served from 7 - 10:30 a.m. and they begin serving lunch at 11 a.m.
Daytonians can also look forward to a live karaoke night every Friday from 7-11 p.m. where a special Friday menu is featured.
We spoke with co-owner Albert Smith about how business has been going.
"It's been good," Smith said. "Just within these few days, it's been really nice."
"It's been both exciting and overwhelming at times, but we are doing really well," said co-owner Lolita Frasier. "People have been enjoying what we've had so far."
So what's been a hit for breakfast?
"When people see the omelet, and they see how much they get -- it's enough where they can eat half and save the rest for later," Frasier said.
"They are definitely getting their money's worth," Smith added.
