Rapid Fired Pizza announces another new location

Kettering-based Rapid Fired Pizza is coming to Middletown, the company announced Monday.

“We feel Middletown is a great community and have been looking for a location within walking distance of Towne Mall and looks like we finally found it!” Ray Wiley said in a news release announcing the new site at 3589 Dixie Highway.

The restaurant will be owned and operated by franchisees Kevin and Zach Ketring. who have been in the business for years and own other restaurants.

Expected to open before the year ends, the Middletown location will occupy 4,000 square feet and will seat 86.

The pizza chain is a product of Wiley, who co-founded 70-unit Hot Head Burritos.

Rapid Fired Pizza touts its pizza as “Amazingly Good, Amazingly Fast,” because it can be ready in just 180 seconds (three minutes). Customers can order from 35-plus toppings or can try one of the 10 craft pizzas. In something that separates the stores from competitors, Rapid Fired offers “a dozen different sauces,” and “unlimited toppings at no additional charge.”

The restaurants also offer craft beers, “craft salads,” and desserts.

Rapid Fired Pizza now has seven locations (the first opened on Miamisburg-Centerville Road in September, 2015) from Lima to Springfield to Montgomery. Nine others, including sites in Oxford, Dayton, Bowling Green and Greenville, are under construction.

The Oxford location is planned for 7 W. High St. and should open in December.

The pizzas come in two sizes — 11-inch thin or 9-inch pan. There are eight sauces, eight cheeses, more than 35 toppings and 14 dipping sauces. The company works through franchise agreements, with costs of store openings between $230,000 and $560,000. Most stores located in shopping plazas can open for an investment between $340,000 and $400,000.
