Vehicle crashes off Wilmington Avenue in Dayton, ends up in woods and on its top

UPDATE @ 11 p.m.: A man said the driver of a car that continued through his yard on Wilmington Avenue and it ended up on its top in a creek bed told him he suffered some kind of medical emergency.

John Montjoy, who declined to go on camera, said he believed the driver crawled out of the wreckage, made his way to the sidewalk on Wilmington Avenue and asked for help.

Montjoy said he was on his porch when he saw the man sitting in the yard. Montjoy said the man told him he suffered some kind of medical emergency just before the crash.

The driver has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. His condition was not known.

A Sandy’s tow truck pulled the vehicle out of the woods.

INITIAL REPORT

At least one person has been taken to a hospital from Wilmington Avenue, near Hospice of Dayton, that left a vehicle in a wooded area and on its top after a crash.

Police and the Dayton fire/rescue team on scene aren't saying much about the accident, which was reported just after 9 p.m.

The vehicle crashed and overturned near a body of water just off Wilmington Avenue, between Rivard Place and Firwood Drive.
