New — and potentially very large — pub in the works in Riverside

A new bar and grill appears to be in the works in Riverside.

New signage for the “Riverside Bar & Grill” has been installed at the former sports bar building at 4317 Linden Ave., and Robert Murray, economic development director for the city of Riverside, said he has learned a lease has been signed for the space. The owners of the new business could not immediately be reached. We are working to learn more about the Riverside Bar & Grill.

The space on Linden Avenue east of Woodman Drive previously housed Smokin’ Aces Bar & Grill, a restaurant, bar and music venue which opened in early 2015, and before that, it was the Filling Station Sports Bar & Grill.

When the property’s owner, Dr. Suresh Gupta, outlined his plans for the Filling Station Sports Bar & Grill in February 2014, he said, “Our goal is to open the biggest sports bar in Dayton.”

Montgomery County records show a 6,000-square-foot tavern/bar and a 24,000-square-foot outbuilding. A previous sports bar also had a 5,000-square-foot outdoor patio.
