New downtown Dayton restaurant launches weekend brunch menu

Those in search of Saturday and Sunday brunch in downtown Dayton will have a brand new option starting this weekend, Aug. 26-27.

Mudlick Tap House opened a month ago at 135 E. Second St. and will expand its hours and add a brunch menu this weekend and on weekends going forward. Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, according to Mudlick Tap House co-founder Jennifer Dean.

Dean and Mudlick co-founder Forrest Williams spent several months renovating the former Club Aquarius space before opening Mudlick Tap House in late July. Their original Mudlick Tap House in Germantown shut down weeks before the opening in downtown Dayton. The gastro-pub offers a broad menu ranging from sandwiches to entrees, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients, and the bar has a dozen beer taps, all devoted to craft beers, and serves cocktails and wine as well.

Dean is also co-organizer of AleFest, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dayton Convention Center in downtown Dayton this Saturday, Aug. 26 — the same day Mudlick’s brunch menu makes its debut.
