Kettering-based Rapid Fired Pizza has inked a deal to open its third Cincinnati-area restaurant, the company announced today, Jan. 11.

The new location at 720 Eastgate Drive South (Suite 100) in Union Twp. is expected to open in early summer. The 2,300-square-foot restaurant will seat 66 people and will be owned and operated by franchisees Zach and Becky Renfrow.

Rapid Fired operates restaurants in Montgomery and in Symmes Twp., both on Montgomery Road.

Rapid-Fired co-founder Kelly Gray said the new restaurant’s proximity to a Jungle Jim’s store and a mix of retailers surrounding the site made it attractive.

“We have been watching this part of the market for some time and feel the time and location is right,” Gray said.

Rapid Fired opened its first restaurant in September 2015 in Washington Twp. and has opened several more in rapid succession in the last 15 months in Fairborn, Sugarcreek Twp., Huber Heights, Kettering, Springfield, Middletown, Lima, and Montgomery in northern Cincinnati.

Additional locations are in various stages of development in Troy, Englewood, Beavercreek, Greenville, Oxford, Sandusky, Bowling Green, Westerville, Hilliard and Florence, Ky.

Rapid Fired restaurants have a quick-service concept, utilizing a serving line in which customers pick out the toppings for their 11-inch thin-crust or 9-inch pan pizza. Customers can choose from eight sauces, eight cheeses, more than 30 toppings and 14 dipping sauces to build their pizza. The pie is then cooked to order in just under three minutes in a high-temperature oven.
