The Dayton area has a new food truck serving up some rather amazing tacos.
For now, you’ll have to go to Yellow Springs to sample Miguel’s Tacos.
Launched by Miguel Espinoza of Yellow Springs, Miguel’s Tacos sets up at 11 a.m. Thursdays through Sundays behind Ye Olde Trail Tavern and Asanda Imports (228-230 Xenia St.), and serves through the afternoon until it runs out of taco supplies — which Espinoza says will probably be around 6 or 7 p.m.

Espinoza previously operated restaurants in Florida. He recently headed north to Yellow Springs and decided to open a taco trailer in his new hometown.
We caught up with Miguel in the mid-afternoon on his second full day of business, Friday, June 16. Walk-up business was steady.
His tacos come with a generous serving of meat — we ordered one each of the carne asada and carnitas, but there are other options as you’ll see on the hand-lettered menu board. Optional toppings include onions, cilantro and salsa.
We highly recommend getting all of the toppings on your tacos. They are delicious, and the tacos are filling. You don’t need an archaeology kit to find the contents of your soft tortilla, that’s for sure.
For now, Espinoza says he’s sticking with the four-day weekend gig in Yellow Springs. I think popular demand may eventually convince him to branch out and show up at a food truck rally or two. For now, consider a side trip to the Miami Valley’s most eclectic village to check our newest food truck — and some terrific tacos.
