New Indian restaurant opens in Washington Twp., Dayton, Ohio

Prems Chennai Delight Indian Cuisine has opened at 725 Lyons Road in Washington Twp., with a menu that its founders say distinguishes it from other Indian restaurants in the region.

The restaurant in the Washington Park Plaza was founded by Premkumar Nagarathinam and Niro Antony. Unlike many other Indian restaurants, it specializes in the cuisine of southern India, its founders say. Select dishes from northern India and Indochina also are offered.

Premkumar Nagarathinam has been catering Indian cuisine since 2002. Niro Antony has seven years of restaurant industry experience in and around the Dayton area. The term “Chennai” in the restaurant name is a reference to the city of 7 million people located on the east coast of southern India, on the Bay of Bengal.

The 2,000-square-foot restaurant seats 48 and has five employees. It is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Monday, and is closed Tuesday.
