Bucket List: Be a kid again at the Boonshoft

Those who say you can never go back to being a kid have obviously never been to Boonshoft Museum of Discovery.

There, you can catch a state-of-the-art planetarium show in The Dome, meet some adorable animals in the Discovery Zoo and take a heat image selfie -- all on a Saturday afternoon.

The Dome Space Theater features regular programing throughout the day and evening. Boonshoft offers dome shows on a variety of science topics, as well as laser shows at night. And if you'd rather gaze on the real thing, Boonshoft also has an observatory that they occasionally make available to the public when they're open for a nighttime event.

Boonshoft's Discovery Zoo lets you see a variety of animals close up. The most popular animals would have to be the otters (you can even plan to attend their daily feeding), however, the chubby meerkat has stolen quite a few animal lovers' hearts as well. And if soft, cuddly and cute isn't your cup of tea, you can walk over to Bieser Discovery Center to visit Raj, their 16-foot Burmese Python.

You know you're hot, but if you want to know how hot, check out the heat image camera in the Hall of the Universe and snap a selfie!

Boonshoft offers many events throughout the year, like the very popular Chemisty + Cocktails and The Science of Wine and Beer. Like them on Facebook for ticket information.

At the last Science of Wine event, Boonshoft provided a fun-filled evening complete with roaming science and animal presentations throughout the museum, and hosted Jeopardy Trivia in the space theater.  They also offered a science experiment show in the Science Theater because nothing pairs better with wine than explosive science experiments!
