Have you ever wanted to learn how to row?
The Dayton Boat Club masters is holding its fall learn-to-row program Friday through Sunday Sept. 15-17.
It’s a fun activity that allows you to be on the water while getting a killer arm workout (and looking like a TOTAL badass).
The learn-to-row class is held at the Dayton Boat Club boathouse on East River Road in Moraine, just south of the Mandalay Banquet Center and Orbit Crane.
For the whole weekend course, it’ll cost each participant $100.

The first day will cover safety, boat handling and proper stroke technique. You’ll start off on a rowing machine (aka an “erg”) -- and you’ll be pleased to know that once you master rowing, you can find these at most area gyms so you can keep practicing.
By day two you’ll be on the water rowing with your fellow classmates!
Here’s what you’ll need to prepare:
- Comfortable but not loose-fitting closes
- A water bottle
- A small towel
- An extra pair of socks o wear in the boat
What if you fall in love with it and want to continue? If you want to join the novice rowing program, you’ll have your learn-to-row fees deducted from the cost of the season. So, oridinarily novice’s would pay $250, but if you take the learn-to-row class it’ll only be $150.
