Back to #Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. When I discussed his future with Lewis last night, he told me being a GM is “something I would listen to.” Both sides seem at peace with a new start. Keep an eye on ST coach Darrin Simmons as a possible replacement.

The 82-year-old Mike Brown will be making the coaching call. Some believe he’ll go the familiar route.
In a CBS piece outlining potential candidates, the aforementioned Simmons and defensive coordinator Paul Guenther are mentioned. As are a pair of former offensive coordinators, Hue Jackson and Jay Gruden.
Jackson is 1-28 across two seasons in Cleveland, though he said he’s focused on fixing the Browns. The Redskins have been reeling, but there’s no indication Gruden is on the hot seat just yet.
If Brown doesn’t opt for Bengals ties, Josh McDaniels and Jim Schwartz are two experienced, popular candidates. If Brown’s conducting a true search, he’ll speak to every person he can.
