    WORTH THE DRIVE: New geocaching trail to open 2.5 hours from Dayton
    Newport Aquarium, located across the river from Cincinnati at 1 Levee Way in Newport, Kentucky, is celebrating opening weekend for its all-new Coral Reef Tunnel. The tunnel, which boasts 360-degree views of the 60,000-gallon walk-through exhibit, officially kicks-off opening weekend on Friday, March 11.

    The John P. Parker House is located in Ripley, Ohio on the banks of the Ohio River. Parker, a former slave who purchased his freedom, owned an iron foundry next to his home. He was also an abolitionist and conductor on the Underground Railroad who helped fugitive slaves escape to freedom. The museum is open from May through October. Group tours are available year-round.     The John Rankin House is located in Ripley, Ohio on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River. John Rankin, a Presbyterian minister and abolitionist, lived in this house with his wife Jean and their 13 children. Conductors on the Underground Railroad, the Rankin family moved over 2,000 fugitive slaves through the home on their journey to freedom. The site, locally managed by Ripley Heritage, Inc. in partnership with Ohio History Connection, is open from May through October. Tours with school groups are also available.
