Dayton Music Insider: Halloween Spectacular!

Is there a more fun weekend to be downtown than Halloween? It's hard to think of one! So get that costume on and head down to one of the awesome shows happening! Keep reading for all the details...

Friday October 28th

Blind Bob's has an excellent line-up, as always, with Mr. Gnome, Speaking Suns and Lioness. Very exciting for alternative and indie rock fans, so get there early. I have a feeling this show is going to be packed, and for good reason. The bands are awesome! Show starts at 9pm. 21+ $5 cover.

Another great show in the District this evening is the Nasty Bingo show at Trolley Stop. Not only are they a great folkadelic rock band, I'm loving the special guests they have lined up: Khrys Blank, Erich Reith & Patrick Himes. Yeah! That's going to be a fun show for sure. Show 9:30pm. $5 cover. 21+

Punk rock kids, get over to

tonight for Abertooth Lincoln, Duderus, and All Dinosaurs, from Cleveland. Just $5. Starts at 9pm.

Lucha rock'n'roll and punk rock will be on tap at Flannagan's this evening, with Team Void and The Terrifying Experience. Sounds pretty appropriate for Halloween! Costume contest will be held between sets, so get creative! Music gets going at 9:30pm. NOTE: You can also catch these acts Saturday night during Hauntfest on the main stage at 10:30pm!

Hard rock fans south of town, check out Hank's Pub in Kettering. Two Punch Gun gets the night going at 10pm, followed by EpiKisT and YIRF. No cover. 18+

Ready to get funky this Halloween? Get down with the best of them at O ne Eyed Jack's, across from Wright State. Jonny Dreads & The Mystiks and The Almighty Get Down are both performing, which is sweet! Just $3 at the door gets you in! There will be drink specials, door prizes and a costume contest! Show starts at 9pm.

Saturday October 29th

A pretty sweet early show is happening at

, featuring

t,

(having CD release),

,

(their first show!),

, and

. It's a 6-10pm show, so plenty of time to enjoy this show and the other fun stuff going on later. $10 gets you in to see all these bands!

For live music fans who love great rock, I'd suggest checking out the Nightmare on Brown Street event with Vibe & Direct and Subterranean at Jimmie's Ladder 11. V&D are coming down from Cleveland to shake things up with their ever-evolving musical fusion. Subterranean is one of the most innovative and exciting original bands to come out of Dayton. Can't wait for this show! 10pm $5 cover.

Monday October 31st

For those celebrating the Halloween on it's proper day, head over to Jimmie's Ladder 11 for McLovins (from Hartford, CT) and Mister F (Albany NY). This promises to be quite the boogie-tastic time with some truly epic bands! 18+ $10 cover. $7 if in costume. Doors at 8pm. Show 10pm - 1am.

As always, thank you for supporting live music!
