Welcome to 2017 my music loving friends! This year is starting off with a terrific line-up of live original music. So click off the Netflix and get out and support your local music scene!

Friday January 6th

Need one reason to leave the house this weekend?

. Bam! There you go. If you have not checked out this robust local super group, please remedy that sooner than later! For some reason, they just vibe with the Trolley Stop so perfectly too. Enjoy! Show from 9:30pm-1:30am. $5 cover. 21+

If you're looking for a bit heavier rock scene, try the show over at Blind Bob's, featuring Rich Man's Trick, The AmpFibians, and Far From Eden. They've got some different takes on rock, from surf to progressive. Fun! Doors 9pm. Show starts at 9:45pm. $5 cover. 21+

Over at Therapy Cafe they are shaking up their usual Friday night with their "Rock'n'roll Line Up" show, which includes Dayton favorites Nicky Kay Orchestra, The Terrifying Experience and Team Void. Best part? Free show and 18+! Doors open at 9pm. 10pm starts to rock!

For my jam loving friends, head over to Peach's Grill in Yellow Springs to check out Pupils of Groove. They're visiting us from Akron / Columbus area, so please do show them some love! I'm guessing the hip YS crowd will be digging their grooves! No cover. 9pm-1am. 21+

Saturday January 7th

Local band

to celebrate their newest release "Mistaken Karma" at Oregon Express. Congrats on this achievement! Shade of Red and Sunset Junkies are kicking off the celebration with live sets starting at 10pm. $5 cover. 21+

Just down the street, punk fans will be rockin' out to The Raging Nathans, SOK!, The Voice Of God, and The Brain Dead Slobs at Blind Bob's. 9pm. $5 cover. 21+

At the other end of the Oregon District, another night of great music can be found at The Trolley Stop. Tonight features Todd the Fox Trio from 9:30pm-1:30am. What an entertaining crew! And for extra fun - there's no cover! 21+

South of town, jazz fans have booked up all the tables at Blue Note Bistro to see Duante Beddingfield and the Randy Villars Trio . Although all tables are already reserved there is a full bar downstairs and a bar in the lounge upstairs. Fans of Duante's do not be deterred! Show is from 8:30-11:30pm.

Heading east of town, there is a funky show happening out at One Eyed Jacks in Fairborn. Bill Kurzenberger will start off the night with a solo set at 9pm, followed by The Mainline Funk and The Happy Little Trees, who are coming all the way from Michigan. Another free show! Enjoy it! 18+

Out in Yellow Springs, Peach's is serving up another fun night of music with

. This will be Echo Mecca's debut in the Springs, so do make sure to check them out, especially if you are local. 9pm. No cover. 21+

In Englewood, you can find Krunk Town Boogie, The Pullouts, and The High Notes all performing at the Courtyard Lounge. This will be a good time, especially if you're already out in that neck of the woods! I'm from Brookville originally, so I particularly love when bands travel out to this area. We need music too! $5 Cover. 21+

Last but certainly not least, there is a quite the party going down at Taffy's in Eaton for local singer / songwriter Moriah Haven's birthday. They are celebrating 1920's style, with music by Emily Ash and Benjamin Thomas, and a potluck dinner! Feel free to bring a dish to share. Fun starts at 8pm! (and Happy Birthday Moriah!)
