First up is a dynamic duo in the world of reggae: regional powerhouses Tropidelic (Cleveland) and Elementree Livity Project (Cincinnati) are bringing their good vibes to Dayton. To simply label these bands as "reggae" is doing them an injustice. They combine elements of funk, hip-hop, jam and roots rock, to bring a unique Ohio flavor to this genre. Opening up the night is Dayton mainstay The Willy Clark Band, who brings people together who love to play music! Where is all the fun? Yellow Cab Tavern. $10. 18+

One of my all-time funky favorites, Magic Jackson, are kicking off a night of fresh tunes over at Jimmie's Ladder 11. They are followed by Bright at Night, an Athens-based band who is making their Dayton debut. Show them some love! Just make sure to wear your dancing shoes! Music starts at 10pm $5. 18+

Just when you think those two shows are hard to choose between, you throw in the The Wretched Few at South Park Tavern, and now you're really scratching your head on what to do! This band is way funky too!! Guaranteed to be a good time, so whichever show you find yourself at, you'll be feeling just fine! (PS. clink the link above to hear their "Dayton Ohio" song! Digging the love!)

Nothing pleases my little live music loving heart more than to see Good English on a line-up! YESSSS! The lovely ladies are back in town to rock out Blind Bob's, along with  The New Old-Fashioned,  Me & Mountains and  Whoa Thunder (St. Louis). Wow! This is going to be one heck of a rock show. Do not miss it! 9 p.m. $5. 21+

Blues fans will be delighted to hear that our treasured guitar virtuoso Noah Wootherspoon is playing at Oregon Express tonight. Always a treat to catch him around town!

If you're in the mood for the hard stuff, head over to Canal Public House for a two-night run of metal and mayhem! Watch Them Rot,  The Gringo,  Echoes of EmpathyThrottle, and From Silence To Violence kick off the first night of this "Rockin' Ass" weekend.

Out of the Dayton area? Check out Asheville's favorite jam band, Jahman Brahman, at Peach's Grill. An absolutely ideal night of music for the carefree Yellow Springs Crowd!
