For over 20 years, I've been going to see live music, and I think it's safe to say I'm one of the biggest fans out there. As a fan, I have some dream shows I'd love to see.

For instance, I never miss an opportunity to see Such a Night: The Last Waltz Live. An entire stage filled with Dayton's best talent. I noticed that a lot of the musicians are in two bands, Trey Stone & The Ringers and Tim Prichard & The Boxcar Suite. I have always wanted to see those guys play their original music together on one stage. That dream is a reality this weekend!

The best part is that they are christening a brand new venue with this show, Square Roots Records, in downtown Troy. It truly is the listening room that we've all been missing!! Read on to find out the details on this show, and many more!

Kicking off the weekend's live music events is Gilcherfest, a special benefit for a special guy who is battling leukemia. Friends and musicians have rallied to bring together an amazing night of music, featuring Swimming with Sharks, God Bless and Asher Jones, and The Nightbeast at Blind Bob's. They have also gathered a huge heap of raffle prizes, worth thousands.  Door cover will be $10, or $20 for entry with 3 raffle tickets. Raffle tickets can be purchased individually for $5 each, or 5 for $20. Please show your love and attend this event, or consider donating to Tyler's Go Fund Me page, to help cover medical costs for his treatment.

Just down the street, over at Oregon Express, you will find the hard rock band Dark Backward, fresh from the studio and debuting new material. Special guests and local pals Cherry Lee And The Hotrod Hounds and The Sandwhich (from Nashville) start the evening off. Very cool. PS... If you're not familiar with the headliner, take a listen to a recent storyteller episode with Dark Backward on Gem City Podcast, or click on their name above for direct link to their music.

Those are pretty heavy line ups for my jam band friends. You all might want to head over to see Jojo Stella (Michigan) and The Mainline Funk at Jimmie's Ladder 11.  This show is both funky and experimental, so if you're looking for a show to dance to, or just some fresh sounds, this is one to check out! 9 p.m. $5. 18+

Please don't forget to attend the Dayton Music Video premiere this upcoming Tue evening at Top of the Market. The folks over at Nucleus Co-Share and Indigo Life Media have been working hard to get this video produced, and it's been a fun ride helping them with it. Meet the crew and see exclusive behind the scenes footage showing how this was put together in less than two months! The event runs from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. This is a free event, and appropriate for the whole family! There will be a cash bar available. Love the Dayton enthusiasm!!
