Anyone got the summertime Blues? Well, I hope not! It's the most glorious season of the year! However, if you are in the mood to hear some Blues, you're in luck!

This weekend is the time for the City of Dayton's annual Blues Festival, which is free! Plus, as always, there is a ton of other talent in town to entertain you. Read on to get the details!

Friday July 15th

The talented super group that is the Great Northern String Band are performing at the Yellow Cab Food Truck Rally (700 E. 4th St) from 5-10pm. Free entry! All ages.

One of my favorite home grown singer/songwriters is back in town from Nashville tonight! Catch Jordan Hull with his full band at Trolley Stop starting at 9pm. Typically a $5 cover and 21+

Area rock fans are pumped for the Mayfly concert at Rockstar Pro Arena. They are an exciting up and coming group from Dayton. It's going to be a loud and fun show - enjoy it kids! Show 6:30-11:30pm $10 pre-sale.

Rockers staying in the Oregon District, check out the line up of local bands over at Oregon Express, featuring A Shade of Red, Dead Tuth, and RIND. $5 cover. 21+

Indie rock / alternatives fans head over to see Roco, Kid Condor, Salvadore Ross at Blind Bob's this evening. $5 cover. 21+

Looking for something to dance to? It's Deep House Friday at Therapy Cafe, this week featuring Marques Wyatt from LA. 9pm. $15 Tickets available at the door. 18+

In the burbs? East of town, The Wretched Few is performing at the Emporium in Yellow Springs. Nice way to spend a summer evening! Cheers!

Saturday July 16th

Swamp Romp, an annual free festival celebrating "Zydeco Sounds and a Taste of Louisiana", is always held at Fraze Pavilion. Festivities start at 4pm with The Hot Magnolias and continuing through the evening with Robin Lacy and later Lisa Haley & The Zydekats. Free admission.

Country superstar Wynnona and The Big Noise are performing at Rose Music Center tonight. Doors 6pm. Special guest Clayton Anderson kicks off the show at 7pm. Tickets start at $23.50, which includes parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees and day of show increase. All events are rain or shine.

Landon Crowell and Dip Spit are teaming up for a one-of-a-kind gallery/punk/hip-hop experience at the Blue House Gallery at 3325 Catalpa Dr. Organizers promise that nothing like this has been experienced before! It's early, from 6-9pm, so plenty of time for other fun late night.

This Is Spinal Tapthe classic rock mockumentary, is being shown at 10:30pm at Victoria Theatre. How cool is that?! As if that couldn't cooler, C. Wright's Parlour Tricks are opening the show at 10pm, and yes they will be turning it up to 11! Only $6 tickets and free popcorn! For more information click here.

Cincinnati's raved about folk act

are performing with Dayton's A Sides / B Sides at Oregon Express this evening. If you are a folk / Americana fan, this is a great show to check out! 9:30pm. $5 cover. 21+

A rock/blues band from Yellow Springs, Spanish Tony Sanchez, is going to be getting the party going at the Dublin Pub. 9pm - 12am.

Major metal is on the bill at Blind Bob's with ZUEL, The Ravenna Arsenal, and Cities on Flame. 9pm. $5 cover. 21+

Heading out of the Dayton area, The Founding Fathers from Cincinnati are in town performing with The Wretched Few and The Meal Tickets at Oscar's Bar in Vandalia.  They've been doing some cool stuff at that bar, so check it out if you're in the area! Show 9pm - 2am. $5 cover.

Out towards Wright State, Mack McKenzie and The Pullouts are both performing at WO Wrights. Further down the same street, you will find One Dolla Holla and KTB and Friends at One Eyed Jacks.

Really stoked for Kyleen Downes who is hosting a CD Release Party at the Vernet Building at Glen Helen off of Corry Street in Yellow Springs.s. The evening also features Evy Cook in The Mystery Ladies with Amelia Merithew at 7pm. Rosie McDonald and Elenore + the Elephant area also supporting this show. At 8:45 Kyleen will perform, joined by Spencer Rowland, Joscylnn Garrison, Charley Skira, and John Bir. Tickets are $10 at the door. All ages. Children 12 and under are free!

Sunday July 17th

The City of Dayton presents the 31st Annual Dayton Blues Festival, featuring RB Stone, Joe Tellmann Band, Brown Street Breakdown, Eldorado Brown, The New Royal Blues, Schu-Shake Redemption, and the Duke Robillard Band. Free Admission and water available. Food and merchandise vendors are also on hand. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. No pets, coolers, tents, grills, outside food and drinks are allowed.

Classic rock fans! Joe Walsh is in town! Rock on right? He's here with special guests JD & the Straight Shot on the "Walsh Toor 2016" at the Rose Music Center. Doors 6pm. Show 7pm. Tickets start at $52, which includes parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees and day of show increase. All events are rain or shine.

There are tons of Old Crow fans in the area, I know that for sure. Yes, Old Crow Medicine Show,  along with Brandi Carlile, with The Secret Sisters are also performing at Rose Music Center this week. 5:30pm Doors. 6:30pm Show.
