Dayton grad and family go viral with adorable Christmas video

A standard Christmas picture wasn't good enough for 2000 Colonel White graduate Roderick Dion Lacking (AKA Dion Lack) and his family.

The foursome dug deep and dropped an adorable Christmas rap video on posted YouTube.

In it, Roderick, his wife Dawnise and daughters, Kaylee, 8, and Kaydence, 3, run down the highlights of 2014 - including the fact that Kaylee's bike no longer has training wheels.

The video has been featured by NBC's Today show and the  Huffington Post,  to name a few national news outlets.

It has received more than 30,000 views since being posted to YouTube shortly after Thanksgiving Day.

Roderick said Kaylee complained that the family's typical Christmas photos were boring.

"I had to show her what her mom and dad were capable of," he said.

The actor and comedian is a co-owner of LackToast Entertainment, a multimedia production company.

He and his family are based in Los Angeles.

Roderick said the response has been great.

"It is really shocking to see how many people think this should be an ongoing thing. (It) put the pressure on us," he said. "It was a lot of fun doing this with my family. This is actually the first time we have all done something (like this) as a whole."
