Luring voters with pizza?

Hmmmmmmm.

ResponsibleOhio spokesman Michael McGovern says it is the "oldest campaign trick in the books."

McGovern, University of Dayton student Mark Dues and University of Cincinnati student Jerod Webber handed out slices of Cassano's Pizza on Brown Street near the University of Dayton today to promote Issue 3 and register voters.

If passed, the Buckeye State will join Alaska, Washington, Colorado and Oregon, plus the District of Columbia in legalizing marijuana for recreational and medical use. Twenty-three states allow the use of medical marijuana.

As part of its Green Rush Bus Tour, ResponsibleOhio had teams on or near several Ohio campus as part of last minute push to register students to votes.

Buddie, the campaign's pothead mascot, didn't make the UD stop.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 General Election is Monday, Oct. 5.
