Addiction center opening new area office

An addiction treatment center is opening a new location in Piqua.

Sunrise Treatment Center’s new office will open at 1130 Garbry Road and will be its first location in Miami County.

They will start treating patients at that location by March or April 2020, said Dr. Jeffrey Bill, CEO of Sunrise.

Some of Sunrise’s services include mediation-assisted treatment and they have an intensive outpatient program available.

A Miami County building permit estimated the cost of the office construction work to be $650,000.

The Cincinnati-based practice opened a location in Middletown in April 2018, opened a Dayton office in December 2018 and in Milford in March 2019.

Bill said Sunrise worked with the Atrium Medical Center Foundation as part developing the Middletown site and was asked by Upper Valley Medical Center, also part of Premier Health, to consider opening a facility in the Troy or Piqua area to meet the needs of that community.

“After having discussions with UVMC’s leadership as well as the members of the Miami County Heroin Coalition and other community leaders, it became apparent that our model of care would provide a needed service in a way that would complement the other substance use disorder and mental health organizations that were already operating in the area,” Bill said in a statement.
