Emerson files $13M in building permits for Sidney location

Emerson Climate Technologies has filed building permit applications for work valued at more than $13 million, according to Shelby County property records.

One permit whose estimated value is put at $12.1 million is for “office and building infrastructure” work, records indicated. The address for that project is 1675 W. Campbell Road, the location of the company’s main Sidney offices.

That was filed by Emerson and Levin Porter Associates.

Another application, whose estimated value is put at nearly $1.3 million, is for an addition to a metrology lab. That application was also filed by Emerson and Levin Porter.

In July, the company announced plans for a $100 million renovation and expansion of labs and offices in its 1-million-square-foot facility in Sidney.

The project was expected to call for $100 million in investments over the next four years. St. Louis-based Emerson said it would break ground in July on the first phase of construction, building a two-story office addition onto the current facility, and converting existing space to new and expanded engineering laboratories.

In May, the Dayton-Montgomery County Port Authority’s Board of Trustees voted to approve a capital financial lease agreement with Emerson to further the planned expansion of its Sidney location.

That lease agreement involved an estimated $40.6 million of construction work in the second quarter of 2017 and an additional $33.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2019, according to Port Authority records.
